It's back – Oxtravaganza returns for its sixth year in 2022. While the official Mardi Gras Parade has relocated, Oxford Street certainly shows no signs of stopping the party as local businesses get set to ramp up the glitter vibes.
Across Oxtrav's full two weeks, expect a bunch of shopping (26 February is 'Shop Till You Drop' Day!), live performers, ArtWalk, a full programme of talks and performances, and of course a bunch of bars and clubs broadcasting the fabulous Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade, on ABC.
Not to mention there's Drag Story Time, poetry, clowning, wrestling and, for those with fur babies, a boutique minding service!
Bottomless brunches, alfresco dining, cabaret and cocktails. . . It's all happening on The Glittering Mile, Kings Cross this Mardi Gras season. You can start things off by shopping late (on 17 February) and finishing with a cocktail, and then, plan your next two weeks – whether you're keen to take in a bit of art, find a new favourite bar or venue, or come to a show.
