Staged across five days, the festival will be an opportunity for LGBTQIA+ choirs and allies from Australia and across the world to come together for workshops, performances, and the chance to perform at a gala concert at Sydney Town Hall.
“Music brings people together, and as we welcome the world to Sydney for WorldPride it’s incredibly special that we will literally get to hear the voices of LGBTQIA+ people from across the globe as part of Out & Loud & Proud,” Sydney WorldPride Festival Creative Director Daniel Clarke says.
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir has been in operation since 1991.
“SGLC is proud to be co-hosting Australia’s largest ever international queer choral festival,” Out & Loud & Proud President Kate Deakin says.
“Following the success of Out & Loud festivals across Australia and New Zealand, this new festival will offer international LGBTQIA+ singers and allies from around the world the chance to join together in song, raising our voices in pride and celebrating our identity as part of Sydney WorldPride. We are delighted to welcome you to Sydney. Let’s raise the roof together: Out & Loud & Proud!”
You can register your interest in taking part at the Out & Loud & Proud website.
Out & Loud & Proud Festival is on from 19-23 February 2023. Sydney WorldPride 2023 is on from 17 February-5 March.
