Dyan Tai has released ‘Let’s Get Bubble Tea! (Songs With Strings Version)’, in collaboration with Songs With Strings and the Stockholm Studio Orchestra.

The song was originally released in 2023, quickly becoming a fan favourite and launching Dyan on to international stages and helping to carry their world into new rooms, from festival sets to touring across the UK and Europe.

Now the track returns in a brand-new way: live and orchestral, in a performance filmed in Stockholm following Dyan’s SXSW London debut. This arrangement clears space for Dyan’s voice to sit at the centre, building toward an operatic-inspired closing which feels both theatrical and intimate.

Long before producing hyperpop and DJing, Dyan had foundations in piano and violin training, including performing in an orchestra for the Malaysian Prime Minister. Now, following the track’s electronic remix iterations, the orchestral version feels like its natural next chapter.

The self-described ‘Gaysian Empress Of Sydney’ comes from humble beginnings in Malaysia. They were named as one of the Outstanding Acts To Watch at BIGSOUND 2023 by NME, and endorsed for their unique sound design by Flume. They’ve captivated audiences around the world from Biennale, Sydney Mardi Gras, Mighty Hoopla UK, and more.

‘Let’s Get Bubble Tea!’ is a shining example of Dyan’s ability to bring their culture on to the stage through music and performance. It’s written as an endearingly awkward coming out story, paying tribute to Asian mums worldwide.
