The countdown to Mighty Hoopla is on, as it gets ready to celebrate its Australian debut at Bondi Beach. The festival is known for being a huge celebration of pop, queer joy, and community.
Multi-platinum, British R&B royalty Jamelia joins the line-up for an Australian exclusive performance. She first captured our hearts with the breakout smash ‘Superstar’, which hit #1 on the ARIA Single Chart in 2003. Her career spans over 25 years and her accolades include four MOBO Awards and nine BRIT Award nominations. Her 2026 Australian return is long-awaited.
Led by the magnetic Natalie Bassingthwaighte, and sonic architect James Ash, Rogue Traders join the fun. They’re a multi-platinum powerhouse, remaining the definitive blueprint for high-gloss, high-voltage Australian pop. Their smash hit ‘Voodoo Child’ made waves globally.
Next up is Queensland-based DJ Ney Like A Horse, bringing pop-driven club sets to the Mighty Hoopla Sydney dance floor and joined by DJs Hayday, Gaff E, Lagoon Femshayma and Toby Corton. Plus, cabaret provocateur Reuben Kaye, UK performers Clitclaw, and drag powerhouse Kween Kong. Ballroom will take centre stage too, with Rocky Stallone and Friends.
The Blak Queens First Nations showcase will centre First Nations voices and performance, promising the ultimate takeover as Miss Ellaneous, Josie Baker, Chandon Connors and special, royal guests storm the main stage, back by a crew of Blak danders led by choreographer Sani Townson.
“Waverley Council is so excited to welcome one of the UK’s most-loved Festivals to Bondi. The overwhelming message from residents and businesses in the several weeks since the 14 December terror attack is that it is time for a bit of joy to come back to Bondi,” Waverley Council Mayor Will Nemesh says.
“The Bondi community is an incredibly resilient one and there is a real determination to not cower, and to come together and to remember all the things that make our beautiful home by the sea so wonderful. It is more important than ever for locals and visitors alike to embrace everything our beloved stretch of sand has to offer.”
Tickets are on sale now.
Mighty Hoopla is on at Bondi Beach on 21 February.
