Created by Robbie Sinclair Ten Eyck (Lazy Susan) and Kane Bonato (Zelda Moon), ‘The Witchy Girls’ reimagines ‘90s teen witch stories, through a chaotic, queer and unapologetically internet-era lens. Audiences are invited to experience the show first, via a live screening event series this May.

The webseries features Alaska Thunderf*ck, Hannah Gadsby, Geraldine Hickey, Nina Oyama, Hot Department, and more. It follows best friends Lazy Susan and Zelda Moon as they stumble through high school armed with spells, bad judgement and big hair. They’re not heroic – they’re deeply self-involved agents of chaos, facing foes like The Millennium Bug, STDs, and the most popular girl in school.

All while never learning a single lesson.

It’s ‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’ meets ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’, but camp as hell.

At its heart, ‘The Witchy Girls’ is about friendship, magic, and how friendship IS magic. It’s being delivered through a bold, live-first production and financing model, and revenue from the live screening events will directly support production.

“This project is exactly the kind of work we believe in,” Iris Arc Pictures Founder and Producer Lauren Simpson says. “It’s fearless, funny and it’s built around community with audience connection at its core.”

“We love backing ambitious comedy that takes risks,” Comedy Republic Co-Founder Kyran Nicholson says. “‘The Witchy Girls’ is wild and inventive and should be experienced together.”

“This series has the energy of live comedy baked into it – it’s messy and unapologetic which is exactly why we wanted to be involved,” Co-Founder Rhys Nicholson adds.

Audiences will be the first to experience ‘The Witchy Girls’, through a live screening event series in Melbourne.
