Cassie’s show ‘You Are Here’ is a surreal elegy for New Jersey’s West Valley Mall.

She first rose to national attention after winning Triple J’s RAW Comedy competition in 2009. Since, she has performed extensively across Australia and internationally, including as a regular at New York’s prestigious Comedy Cellar, and London’s Soho Theatre.

She has picked up the Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (2011), Best Comedy at Adelaide Fringe (2012) Most Outstanding Show nomination at MICF (2013, 2019) and Best Show at Sydney Comedy Festival (2019).

Cassie came out as transgender in 2017, and her YouTube series ‘So You Think You Can Trans’ attracted millions of views globally. In 2019, her show ‘Giantess’ received critical acclaim for its profound exploration of the anguish of living in a body that doesn’t align with one’s gender identity.

In 2020, she received a grant from the City Of Sydney to write ‘Aberdeen’, an epic meditation on brief, depression, and rock star Kurt Cobain. It received the Scotsman Fringe First Award in 2022, following a season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Cassie’s got an upcoming series in the pipeline titled ‘Cassie Workman Is Witchy AF’. It’s an adult comedic documentary series exploring occultism and magic in unconventional ways and is executive produced by Lilly Wachowski.
