Why do you do it?
I do it because I’ve always been involved in the arts, and I simply adore performing. I get to make a character who is an exaggerated version of myself, and I work on myself at the same time.
What do you love about the city you live in right now?
I love Newcastle because of our uprising LGBTQIA+ scene. We originally had a gay club that now is a straight EDM venue, so luckily an iconic queen here named Timberlina puts on events with her event company for us all to attend. Plus our scene is so diverse, for example glamour girls like Angel CupCakes, showstoppers like Foxxe Faux, kings like Neil E Falik and left-of-centre queens like Abork.
What's the best thing about being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community?
The chance that I’ve had to make so many amazing lifelong friends who truly have changed my life for the better.
In your opinion, what is the most misunderstood thing about the community?
That our personalities are more negative. We aren’t all superficial and rude! Some of us actually want to do good, not be twatty.
Do you have an LGBTQIA+ icon/spokesperson that you look up to and if so, what do you love about them?
She may only be an ally, but definitely Kylie Minogue. It’s hard to pinpoint exact things that I love about her. All I know is that she’s changed my life, and I met my lifelong best friend thanks to her.
How do you define happiness?
Pure joy. No matter how long the moment. A big grin on your face. I’ve only just learnt what happiness is, and I’m glad I have.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Definitely. I’m quite happy that my job and fellow workers support my endeavours and are willing to help me out wherever possible.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
I’d go back to 2002 so I could see Kylie Minogue’s 'Fever2002' Tour! Duh!
What is the best lesson you've ever learned?
To love yourself. A couple of years ago, I was heavier, depressed, I didn’t have many friends at all. But as soon as I started to slowly but surely love myself, things got better for me. And now I’m happier than I’ve ever been.
What is your spirit animal?
A cheetah. Well, any type of feline for that matter. To quote Delta Goodrem; “I feel alive, broke the bars that kept me caged inside. It’s my time to be the fearless queen out in the wild.”
