Miss Lady Saint Diva

What do you do in your day-to-day life?
My partner and I of 17 years try to get some us time. We take our dogs for a walk or we just go to the beach and chill. I am always thinking of my next performances, choosing songs and outfits.

Miss Lady Saint Diva

Why do you do it?
I love performing and making people smile. Having patrons come up to me and say "the last three hours has made me forget all of my worries", or they say "I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard". This is why I do what I do and being able to do it is so fulfilling.

What do you love about the city you live in right now?
The people and atmosphere. Everyone on the Sunshine Coast has been so accepting of drag and what we do.

What's the best thing about being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community?
Firstly how accepting of me and my drag the Brisbane queens are. . . How excited they have been for the events we run on the Sunny Coast. They have been so supportive. Also, I think for me, it is the ability to show younger and older members of the community it's okay to be you.

In your opinion, what is the most misunderstood thing about the community?
That we all watch 'RuPaul's Drag Race'.

Do you have an LGBTQIA+ icon/spokesperson that you look up to and if so, what do you love about them?
Magda Szubanski – everything she has done for the community and in the performing arts sector!

How do you define happiness?
Waking up every morning and living your best life.

Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Yes definitely, I love what I do and don't see it as work!

If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
1974's Eurovision, to see ABBA win!

What is the best lesson you've ever learned?
You're never too old to learn new things, the hardest thing for anyone to do is to go “okay it's time to change and it starts today”. Do what makes you happy and once you make that decision, you will blossom.

What is your spirit animal?
Peacock. . . Because of how extra they are!
